Numerical and Flow Sensitivity Study of Propeller and Wing Interaction Noise

Nikos Trembois
PhD Candidate
University of California Davis

Nikos Trembois will present research on propeller-wing flow interactions and the effect of deviations from optimal axial flight on acoustics. The research investigates unsteady propeller and wing loading as well as the contributions to tonal noise due to the presence of a wing in a propeller’s wake.

Nikos Trembois received his Masters of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from University of California Davis in the Computational Flow Physics and Aeroacoustics Lab under the guidance of Professor Seongkyu Lee. His research focuses on high-fidelity CFD to resolve detailed flow fields and rotorcraft aeroacoustic sources.
